Problem:Some specific setup is required to be able to receive invitations in Groupcal.
Solution:
The behavior described herein applies to Groupcal 3.34 and newer.
Invitations are configured via Groupcal's Exchange panel, not via the Synchronization panel.
To be able to receive invitations within Groupcal, using Groupcal's Exchange panel, configure the "Meeting request" options for each applicable Exchange account.
The Groupcal program is meant to be used only for setup and is not meant, or required, to be running at all times. Instead, Groupcal's background program (the Groupcal Daemon) is configured to run continuously to perform the on-going Groupcal functions.
Most commonly, Groupcal is setup to perform automatic/regular syncing via the "Automatically synchronize:" setting and the Groupcal Daemon is configured, via Groupcal's Preferences, to run continuously (i.e., not to quit when Groupcal is quit).
Groupcal's Synchronization status "menu extra" can be enabled via Groupcal's Preferences and used for ad-hoc checks when only the Groupcal Daemon is running or to manually control Groupcal operations when the Groupcal Daemon is configured not to run continuously.
