Problem:

I want to know what the setting "Don't sync iCal-set alarms to Exchange" does.

Solution:

In Groupcal 3.0 to 3.23 "Ignore changes made in Exchange" was named "Remove alarms"

If the "Don't sync iCal-set alarms to Exchange" option is on/checked for a given calendar, then Groupcal will remove the alarms that were set in iCal (from events and tasks) when it syncs the iCal event/task to Exchange.

Note that Groupcal will not remove the alarm/reminder for an event/task when that event/task is sync'd from Exchange to iCal.

Thus, an alarm that was set in iCal will be removed when sync'd to Exchange. If the event is then updated in Exchange and then sync'd back to iCal, the event will not longer have an alarm (unless one was subsequently added in Exchange).
