Groupcal 3
          Advanced Synchronization Settings
Ignore events older than (N) days
Checking this will prevent Groupcal from synchronizing events that do not have instances that occur within the specified number of days. For example, if this is checked and a value of 30 days used it would mean that only events that have a start time within the last 30 days or recurring events that have at least one recurrence within the last 30 days will be synchronized. This option is enabled by default. Checking this option can often significantly speed up synchronization time by reducing the number of events Groupcal has to manage.

IMPORTANT: Checking this option will cause some Exchange servers to report the calendar as being empty to Groupcal. This results in a "blank" calendar in iCal after synchronization. If you experience this problem disable this option and synchronize your calendar again. The "blank" calendar in no way effects your Exchange calendar (i.e. nothing has been deleted.) We are working to identify exactly why some Exchange servers exhibit this behavior and if possible, correct the problem in a future release.

Ignore tasks completed (N) days ago
Checking this will prevent Groupcal from synchronizing tasks that were completed more than the specified number of days ago. For example, if this is checked and a value of 30 days used it would mean that only tasks that are either not marked as completed or were completed within the last 30 days will be synchronized. This option is enabled by default. Checking this option can often significantly speed up synchronization time by reducing the number of tasks Groupcal has to manage.
Sync events from this Exchange URL
Checking this will cause Groupcal to synchronize the iCal calendar's events with the Exchange folder designated by the URL. By default Groupcal will synchronize the calendar with the events located in the "Calendar" folder of the Exchange account the calendar is set to. By checking this and entering an alternate location you can synchronize events from any Exchange folder to which you have access.

Use this option if you have delegate permissions for another Exchange user and wish to access and or manage their calendar. The URL should be the URL to the Calendar folder of the user ( e.g. http://mail.domain.com/exchange/jimmy/Calendar/ ).

Use this option if you wish to access and or manage a calendar located in an Exchange Public folder. The URL should be the URL to the calendar folder within the Exchange Public folder tree ( e.g. http://mail.domain.com/Public/Team_Calendar/ ).

Sync tasks from this Exchange URL
Checking this will cause Groupcal to synchronize the iCal calendar's tasks with the Exchange folder designated by the URL. By default Groupcal will synchronize the calendar with the tasks located in the "Tasks" folder of the Exchange account the calendar is set to. By checking this and entering an alternate location you can synchronize tasks from any Exchange folder to which you have access.

Use this option if you have delegate permissions for another Exchange user and wish to access and or manage their tasks. The URL should be the URL to the Tasks folder of the user ( e.g. http://mail.domain.com/exchange/jimmy/Tasks/ ).

Use this option if you wish to access and or manage a calendar located in an Exchange Public folder. The URL should be the URL to the tasks folder within the Exchange Public folder tree ( e.g. http://mail.domain.com/Public/Team_Tasks/ ).

Publish all items as private
If this is checked Groupcal will automatically mark any event or task you create in iCal as a private event or task when it is synchronized with Exchange.
Publish all items with these categories

If this is checked Groupcal will automatically add the specified categories to any event or task you create in iCal when it is synchronized with Exchange. To enter multiple categories separate them by commas.

Only synchronize items . . .
When this is checked Groupcal will filter the events or tasks that are synchronized with Exchange. The effects of each filter on a calendar are as follows:
  • From Groupcal
Only synchronize items that were written by anyone to Exchange using Groupcal.

  • From this calendar
Only synchronize items that were written to Exchange from this iCal calendar. This option is useful if you want to synchronize several iCal calendars with Exchange and want to make sure they remain separate in iCal.

  • Without categories
Only synchronize items from Exchange that do not belong to any categories or items that were created in the calendar using iCal.

  • With all these categories
Only synchronize items from Exchange that belong to all the specified categories or items that were created in the calendar using iCal. To specify multiple categories separate them with commas.

  • With any of these categories
Only synchronize items from Exchange that belong to any of the specified categories or items that were created in the calendar using iCal. To specify multiple categories separate them with commas.

  • Without all these categories
Only synchronize items from Exchange that do not belong to all the specified categories or items that were created in the calendar using iCal. To specify multiple categories separate them with commas.

  • Without any of these categories
Only synchronize items from Exchange that do not belong to any of the specified categories or items that were created in the calendar using iCal. To specify multiple categories separate them with commas.
Use iSync friendly location for events
When this is checked Groupcal will automatically add the location of an event to the summary when it is displayed in iCal. It has no effect on the summary of the event when it is synchronized with Exchange. Many mobile devices such as iPods or Palm devices do not support the location field used by Exchange and iCal. The option provides a simple way for you to know the location of an event (if it has one) when viewing the event on such a mobile device.
